Decluttering challenge - Day 1.5

I haven’t even gotten to Day 2 of the NYT Declutter Challenge. After I took everything out from under my sink, I decided to buy some shelf liner to spruce up the bottom of the cabinet that has seen years of use without protection. There are bubbles and places where water has been.

Before - bubbly and ugly.

After - the shelf liner transforms it into a clean space. Tidying up places as mundane as under a kitchen sink can make such a difference.

I then turned my attention to one of my favorite places in the kitchen - my coffee drawer. I decided it needed some sprucing up and found some berry bowls my mother gave me years ago. They have some chips and were replaced long ago by other bowls, but I still love them and have hung onto them. I love finding a purpose for things I love but no longer use. Now they hold my coffee pods and bring me joy every time I see them; I think of my mother and the many coffees we had together.

Berry bowls now hold coffee pods.

I will start on Day 2 - as soon as I find a place for my oversized casserole dish…
